The lives of millions of children are at risk each year because of wrong choices made by aid agencies and governments with regard to the priorities of health care. This came in a new report from the "Water supported" charities.
The report said that the diarrhea caused by poor sanitation and poor health conditions generally kills more than a number of children victims of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined.
The report pointed out that money spent on the fight against AIDS far exceeds what is spent on improving sanitation and improved health conditions.
The report highlighted what it described as the difference in spending between the diseases that kill children.
The report said that 1.8 million children were killed in 2004 because of diarrhea throughout the world, but not spent on improving sanitation and health conditions, only 1.5 billion dollars between 2004 and 2006.
In the same period was 10.8 billion dollars in spending to combat AIDS, which killed 300 thousand children.
